ABC has acquired the rights for the new reality interactive series "Public Property," from creators Simon Goodman and Jerry Glover of GAG Prods. in association with NEXT Entertainment.

"Property" takes volunteers from across the country who are ready for a life change and let viewers decide what will happen to them next. Cameras will follow willing participants around for a full week, recording their work, lifestyle and personal relationships. The show will then choose several options that they would like the contestant to try in order to enhance their lives. One of these options will be chosen by the voting public, leaving the contestant with one path for change.

"This show is the first truly interactive real-life drama, with the public choosing the direction of the storyline," said Andrea Wong, ABC's senior vice president of alternative series and specials. "We are very excited to bring this groundbreaking concept to television."

"Public Property" will also be produced internationally by Pearson Television and in the U.K. by Anglia Television.
